Welcome to www.lewisrobinson.co.uk

For over four decades, Lewis Robinson has created sculptures and drawings driven by a keen interest in materials, process, and a poetic vision. Reflecting on lived experiences, a sense of place, and the idea of journeys, his practice spans a wide range of media, subjects, and themes.

Over the past 25 years, Lewis has been drawn to found and reclaimed material and objects. These elements serve as starting points for sculptures developed through construction, casting, repairing, and rebuilding, often, in unexpected ways. His drawings operate both as standalone two-dimensional works and as reflections on sculptural ideas, sharing a close synergy with his making process.

In addition to his studio practice, Lewis has completed public and corporate commissions, and his work is held in numerous private collections. As a resolute educator, he taught in Further and Higher Education from 1987 until retiring from teaching in 2018. He also led workshops at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (2015–2019) and continues to work as a part time freelance tutor and facilitator.

Lewis lives and works in West Yorkshire.
